Our Mission Statement is: “Crossroads Baptist Church is going forth with a Great Message to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment for God’s Glory”
Our Purpose is to Glorify God – Ephesians 3:21; Ephesians 1:11,12; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Romans 15:4 Our Five Prioritiesfulfill this Purpose. These Five Priorities of the Church found in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and in the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40).
❖ To worship – “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart …”
❖ To Minister – “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”’
❖ To Outreach – “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel …”
❖ To Fellowship – “Baptise them..”
❖ To Teach – “Teaching them to observe all things …”
When we do this then we:
➢ Inspire people to have a Heart for God – Through Worship – Psalm 34:1-3
➢ Involve people in ministry opportunities – Through Ministries – 1 Peter 4:10-11
➢ Impact Murgon and beyond with the gospel – Through Outreach – Acts 1:8
➢ Include people in a loving Church family – Include people in a loving Church family – Through Fellowship – Acts 2:41-47
➢ Instruct people in the Bible Doctrines – Through Teaching – 2 Timothy 2:2
Our Vision for Crossroads Baptist Church is we believe God has specifically placed us here in Gympie & Murgon for the following reasons:
❖ To show people the Bible way to get to heaven and have eternal life.
❖ To be a help to people in their daily lives where hurts and needs are real.
❖ To provide a place where people can meet and find out what God’s purpose is for their lives.
Our Ministries exist to fulfill our Priorities and Purpose:
We exist to Exalt and Extol the Lord in Worship Exaltation Ministries The way we express our worship to God is as follows:
➢ Heartfelt singing – Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16
➢ Thanksgiving and Praise – Psalm 100:1-5; Psalm 22:3
➢ Praising on Instruments – Psalm 150:1-6 ➢ Preaching of God’s Word – 2 Timothy 4:2-4
➢ Praying in the Spirit (as opposed to ritualistic prayer) – Ephesians 6:18 ➢ Hearing the Word of God – Romans 10:17; John 17:17 ➢ Giving of our Tithes and Offerings – 1 Corinthians 16:1-2
➢ Baptizing new believers – Acts 2:41
➢ Partaking of the Lord’s Supper – 1 Corinthians 10:16- 21; 11:20-34
➢ Making commitments and decisions at invitation time – Romans 12:1-
➢ Greeting one another – 1 Corinthians 16:20; Romans 16:16
➢ Reading of the Scripture – 1 Thessalonians 5:27; Nehemiah 8:8
Our particular manner of worship can be described in four words:
Understandable We have the philosophy that you should come away from the Church service and say, “I understood that and I’ve got something that I can put into practice and be “doers of the word and not hearers only.” James 1:22 Uplifting Our services are intended to inspire you to have a heart for God and uplift you in your walk with God to help you “mount up with wings as eagles.” Isaiah 40:31
Unifying The Bible says the world will know we are the disciples of Jesus when we “have love one to another” John 13:34-35. By the end of a service we strive to be that much closer to one another and to dwell in unity with each other. Ephesians 4:1-3; Psalm 133:1
Unique There is no church like Crossroads Baptist Church. We are unique and we strive to be the type of Church that members say “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord” Psalm 122:1. There is no place like home!
We exist to Edify the Body through Ministry!!
